Did you know that by simply waxing your car you can gain about 2 miles per gallon more. Is it just me or is it true, what do you think

A freshly washed and waxed car may show a measurable difference between a completely mud encrusted mess of a car. Probably mostly by loss of weight of the mud. Doubtful that you could get 2 mpg though. Maybe if you also filled the low tires.

I have not noticed any measurable gas mileage increase after waxing my car.

Sounds like a job for the MythBusters.

To answer the question, no. Its lucky to get waxed every 6 months.

No, never thought it would increase my mileage. I do have Clear Coat on it though & it always looks waxed.

Washing an airplane does yield fuel efficiency, not a car.

At 60 years old, if I had been waxing all my life, I could have probably retired by now!

With this and removing the spare tire - my mpg should go up so high that I'll never need to buy gas again!! Whoopee!

I keep all of my vehicles waxed on a regular basis. At prolonged high speeds, I can imagine it make some minor difference. Other than that, I keep them waxed because I like my vehicles to look good

Could someone please explain "how" waxing help? Are we referring to car surface being "extra" shinny slippery? What is it? Would like to know what you mean .... !!
